Miss Burrows' Bench

Hi, my name is Kahni.

On the 27th of January this year, my beautiful, talented sister Majella Burrows lost her battle with leukemia.

She was a dedicated teacher, well-loved and respected by her students, their parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.

She always went the extra mile for others. Now, we would like everyone to go the extra mile for her.

We hope to raise money to purchase and install a friendship bench dedicated to her on the grounds of the school where she spent so many of the last years of her life, instilling in her young charges the importance of friendship, kindness and fairness.

A friendship bench is a common fixture in many schools where students who feel lonely, isolated or even just want to meet new people can sit, inviting others to reach out in friendship just by coming to sit with them for a while.

The funds raised in this campaign will go towards purchasing the bench, creating a memorial plaque that will be fixed to the bench and installing the bench on the school grounds.
