Major Brent Taylor High School Scholarships

Tax deductible
It’s hard to believe it’s already been two full years since my husband, Utah Army National Guard Major Brent Taylor, was killed in action in Afghanistan.  November 3, 2018 is surely a day many of us will never forget.

Eight months after he died, we celebrated what would have been Brent’s 40th birthday by raising $40,000 to put toward college scholarships in his name and by starting a leadership legacy foundation in his honor. Those funds were used to create endowed scholarships at both Brigham Young University, where Brent received his bachelor’s degree, and the University of Utah, where he received his masters and doctoral degrees.

This year, we have a new fundraising goal in mind.  We want to provide high school scholarships at both Weber High School, in the community where Brent served as mayor, and at Chandler High School in Arizona—where Brent graduated as the Student Body President of the class of 1997.

Brent would have had his 41st birthday this past July—and I’m turning 41 on Halloween day.

So this year, our goal is to raise at least $4100 in honor of our 41st birthdays over the course of the 4 days that separate my birthday from the second anniversary of his death day—which this year happens to fall on Election Day.

$4100

In 4 days.

From Halloween to Election Day.

I hope you’ll join us and give what you can to help us carry on the leadership legacy that Brent so proudly left behind.
