Major Repairs to Dangar Island Bowling Club

Hi Friends of the Dangar Island Bowling Club,

My name is Steve and I am the President of the Board at Dangar Island Bowling Club.

We are a group of dedicated volunteers that manage our beloved not-for-profit community Club with the incredible help of our three fabulous staff members and their occasional helpers.

The Bowlo is situated on a small water access island in the late stages of the Hawkesbury River, close to where it meets the Pacific Ocean.

The Club has been an invaluable cultural hub for our tight community of 300 permanent residents since the late 1950's and it now operates as an active lawn bowls facility, music and event venue, restaurant and bar.

The Club has no gaming machines and relies entirely on revenue from selling food and drinks to survive.

Through volunteer power, careful management, incredible community support and a successful event program, the Dangar Island Bowling Club maintains its viability, but the profit margins are still slim. This makes essential upgrades of the Club's infrastructure difficult.

Major repairs are urgently required to keep the building safe for patrons and staff.

Our bar and kitchen floors need to be replaced and the club will need to close for at least two weeks to affect these repairs.

The substantial costs of these essential repairs, along with the suspension of trading, will hit the club hard financially.

So, we're reaching out to friends of the Club far and wide to help us in our time of need!
