Make a new Mother Ginger costume for Nutcracker
Donation protected
Dear friends and NCAD families,
We are reaching out to you because we really need your help!
Our beloved Mother Ginger costume is sadly beyond repair. We all know that this is one of the most adorable scenes of the Nutcracker show, when all the cute little gingerbread cookies come running out from underneath the dress. It is where a lot of our sweet children have started on stage! It always brings great smiles and joy to everyone. Enough reminiscing :-) ……..
Our friends Nuria Elkins and Cathy Ginther have volunteered to re-design and make a new costume, one that is more fitting for a proper Mother Ginger and one that will last for many years to come. This is only half the battle! However, the yardage of fabric needed to make it happen is not cheap. The Elkins are trying to get the fabric at wholesale, but the cost is still significant. Because of this, we have created a “Go-Fund me” and are asking you to donate for this wonderful cause. Anything helps! Please share with your family and friends! Help make this new costume one to remember.
We are all looking forward to the Nutcracker this year and we want this new Mother Ginger costume to be a wonderful addition. We want to keep it a surprise and will not reveal it until the first show of the Nutcracker. Please help to make this year memorable for our new Gingerbread cookies with this special change to the show.
Our goal is to raise $1800 by September 30th for fabric and other materials to make the costume.
If you prefer to pay by cash you can bring it to the front desk. Or Venmo to @Nuria-Elkins
ANY extra money raised will go to repair other NCAD Nutcracker costumes! :)
We love you all and we thank you in advance!!!
Happy Nutcracker!
