Make a Stand March

As a part of Ave Maria College’s Senior Student Leadership Team’s “12 Months of Empowerment” initiative, College Co-Captains Eliza Gollant and Natalie Cierpisz will be promoting social awareness during “Make a Stand March”. The initiative will take place on Mission Action Day as a secondary way to raise funds for our sister school St Maria Mazzerello in Venilale, Timor Leste, in addition to the annual Walkathon event. This event will also allow us to commence our support for the charity-run organisation ‘Sustainable Salons’.


We are delighted to announce that as a part of our campaign, Natalie will be cutting off 50 cm of her hair, alongside Clare House Captain Hannah Shaw, and Faith & Social Justice Captain Hannah Portelli, who will each be donating 20 cm. Their hair will then be donated to Sustainable Salons, an organisation that makes wigs for people suffering from alopecia or medically induced hair loss. All funds raised will go towards supporting our sister school St Maria Mazzerello in Timor Leste. This will allow children access to the fundamental need of education, and support a cause that the College has been contributing to for many years now. We encourage one and all to donate towards our “Make a Stand March” event, where even a few dollars can make a profound difference in someone’s life.
