Make Chantelle's home habitable

Donation protected
My daughter Chantelle was diagnosed with a life limiting condition known as friedreich's ataxia (FA)
at the age of 13. This rare progressive condition means that majority of muscles will weaken overtime, until her heart will eventually become too weak to continue.
Since the diagnosis, Chantelle's condition has deteriorated and she is now fully wheelchair dependent and requires full time care. Despite this, Chantelle has not let this prevent her from living her life to the fullest. She has worked so hard to achieve as much as she has in her lifetime, from playing wheelchair basketball, learning to drive, graduating with both her undergrad and masters degree, to working full time and continuously plan for her future.
It has always been vital to Chantelle to live her life as 'normal' as possible, like any other young healthy person her age. We are immensely proud of Chantelle for her achievements, but more so, her strength, determination and positivity throughout.

Over, the last few years, Chantelle has worked hard to save towards buying her own house. After finding a home that had previously been adapted for a wheelchair user, she had found a home that suited both her personal, physical and future needs as her condition progresses.
The home was very habitable upon the couple of viewings and a home survey didn't highlight any major concerns.
Over the Christmas and new year holidays (between the home survey and completion) a leak has caused some serious damage in the property, resulting in the home being inhabitable and unsafe. Unfortunately, Chantelle's home insurance won't cover the damages as the leak began before completion. Also, the other insurance company has denied the claim, leaving Chantelle to fund repairs herself. We have received many quotes in excess of £50k for the repairs required, which is way beyond Chantelle's means, especially being a cost Chantelle did not expect to occur. However, Chantelle had already put notice in for her current rental property and was unable to retract it or postpone the leaving date. Overall, leaving Chantelle homeless with nowhere to stay and also maintain the level of care she requires. For the short term, Chantelle is currently residing in a family member's conservatory and having to use the shower at a public gym. For many reasons this is unsuitable for Chantelle due to accessibility issues and the family members house being sold, meaning Chantelle is facing homelessness again very soon.

Our hope is that we can support Chantelle to make the home habitable as soon as possible.
It's such a shame that she has to deal with this in addition to everything she has been through and continues to face in the future.
