Make Dawson's Heartfelt Wish Come True

My name is Kristina I am Dawson's Mom, and I'm here to tell his story. Imagine being a newborn, just 6 days old weighing only 4lbs 8oz and having your first of many open heart surgeries. Dawson was born with a life threatening heart condition Dextrocardia Heterotaxy syndrome. (Which is his heart is on the right side of his chest and upside down) his heart also has 3 large holes that were too big to repair. Dawson has endured multiple open heart surgeries over the past 18 years in attempt to help his heart function more efficiently, while he waited for a heart transplant. Each surgery posted it's own complications that included weeks and months at Motts Children's Hospital. Through Dawson's journey and all the setbacks, Dawson has remained positive, happy and has always lived life to the fullest. He is the biggest jokster and always has a smile on his face. Through all of this Dawson still managed to attend Gull Lake Community Shools and is now in the 11th grade and many people know him well and know his story. At Dawson's most recent check-up the doctors did a heart stress test and have delivered some very difficult news related to future hopes of transplant. We were told that Dawson's heart isn't strong enough to sustain transplant or any other heart surgeries, that there is no more they can do for Dawson becides medication to prolong life. They were not able to give a time frame just said they simply couldn't say but that his heart and body could only take so much, and to focus on making Dawson happy. With Dawson's condition he has been limited on the activities he can do, which includes gaming, hunting deer, and riding quads. One of Dawson's big wishes is to have a smaller side by side that fits him well. I placed a pic of the one of his dreams. he loves riding trails and being outdoors. Please help us make this wish come true for a very very deserving young man who deserves the world. When we raise the money we will take Dawson to go pick out his dream side by side, and take a ton of pictures for everyone to see his joy!

UPDATE: Tonight my family had the biggest unexpected surprise! After our story aired Zeigler Motorsports contacted us wanting us to come in. Upon arrival he met with Carson Hocevar Nascar rookie of the year where he invited him to Datona 500! Following that awesome experience, the Zeigler team spoke with Dawson, told him he saw the Gofundme where we were trying to raise money for a side by side. He told us he didn't want this money spent on the side by side he wanted the money raised to do anything that makes him and our family happy, that he wanted to give him his own side by side! It was beyond anything I thought I could make happen for him! He also got a personalized video from the 49ers courter back Brock Purdy! The love and support from so many people who truly care was overwhelming heartfelt. Our family would like to personally thank everyone from gofundme, Zeigler, Brock Purdy, friends, family and those who had no idea who we are personally but saw our story and truly cared. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts truly there are no words that can express how grateful we are. Any extra money raised will go to make memories and fund any adventures he may want.
