Make-Do Play
Donation protected
Make-Do Play CIC is dedicated to providing children and their families with unstructured, child-led free-play, for free.
We deliver drop-in community play sessions and pop-up events in London and currently have two regular projects running in Islington - one at an adventure playground and one in a community garden.
Children are given the freedom to play however they choose with open-ended materials and loose parts. Parents are encouraged to sit back and relax while the children get on with exploring the play opportunities which include mud kitchens, dressing-up, woodwork with real tools, sensory materials, crafts, painting and den making.
Many of the families who attend our sessions cannot afford to spend money on expensive children's art classes or forest school groups. Many live in overcrowded housing or have no outdoor space of their own. At our play sessions children are given space to roam, connect with nature and get as messy as they like.
Our play sessions will always be free to everyone. We therefore rely on grants and donations. As a not-for-profit all money goes towards delivering high quality play to children of all ages.
“It was joyous. Just what we needed”

“Make-Do Play is surely one of the happiest places to be.”
