APL Teacher Holiday Fundraiser

Haiti has seen a turbulent year between the pandemic, political unrest, and extreme natural disasters. No one has been affected more than the schools, teachers, and students, of southeast Haiti.

The APL foundation's schools have been instrumental in helping the families of South East Haiti by educating, feeding, and caring for their children and employing teachers, cooks, and support staff from the local area.

Unfortunately, we have seen three of our schools temporarily close in response to these challenges. This holiday season we are asking for your support in helping us raise additional funds to support the teachers of APL run their courses for December of 2021.

APL teachers live in a remote area in Haiti and every week they commute to our school where students learn tuition-free. APL currently employs 32 teachers and with your help we can make sure they get compensated.

With your support we’re hoping to grow that number of teachers to better serve the community’s needs by having the ability to re-open all of our schools in 2022. Any funds raised past our goal amount will go towards the 2022 school year to pay for teachers' salary ($75 per month per teacher), student uniforms ($10 per year per student), and feeding students every day ($1 per day per student).
