Make Estrella's College Dream a Reality

My daughter, Estrella Hernandez, has had the privilege of being one of over 16,000 students chosen as a QuestBridge College Prep Scholar. As a scholar, she has received an invitation to attend a conference at Pomona College in Claremont, California. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Estrella and an amazing opportunity for her to connect and learn more about getting into a top college. Estrella is a hardworking daughter; since she was young, she has always excelled in her studies and has tried her best to make use of opportunities to reach her goals. Estrella is a diligent, intelligent, and dedicated student. She loves to help her community, friends, and classmates. Since she was a little girl, she’s wanted to pursue her passion of becoming a neurosurgeon and being the first in our family to attend college. This conference is a great honor for her; she really wants to attend because she doesn’t get many invitations as special as this one.

However, as a first-generation, low-income student, Estrella does not have the means to cover traveling and lodging expenses to make it to the conference. The conference is in California, and we live in NC, and it is not affordable in our current situation. Sadly, QuestBridge is not offering any financial aid opportunities, but I set up a GoFundMe so she can take part in this wonderful opportunity. I want to make sure my daughter has a chance to go and live out anything that can help her reach her goals. The conference is taking place JUNE 28th! If you could donate to help her cause, it is very appreciated and will not go unnoticed. Anything helps! She dreams of going to an Ivy League and studying medicine, and she wants to make a change.
