Three years ago I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer. The doctor went to far as to give me an "expiration date." Needless to say I was in shock for awhile. But I did a few things, including trusting my doctors. 36 months and 45 chemotherapy treatments later I am cancer free. Praise God!
However I am now discovering the cost of these treatments has cut severely into my resources. Frankly, while I was spending the money it didn't really occur to me I would be cured. So I wasn't worried about running up debt or cutting into my long term savings.
I find myself starting over in business with a long term debt to resolve. I'm in the process of re-financing my house and pulling it all under one umbrella. I have spent over $100,000 on medical care, prescriptions, travel and other related treatments. I'm not looking to recover all of that money, just what I have left to pay off.
Having said that a friend suggested I post a "gofundme" campaign. I immediately said no as I'm too proud to accept help. But he reminded me there are many lives who's paths I have crossed and they might want to pitch in. So here I go. I don't know what this campaign will raise. I have helped raise literally millions for other causes but never thought of doing it for myself. Thank you in advance if you want to help.
