I’m excited to share the journey behind the Make It Change Tour 2025. This tour has been a long time coming, and I want to take you through how it all started, what it means, and what I’m planning for next year.

⚫️ SHORT VERSION
In 2017, I partnered with a singer to create the Make It Change Tour, and together we completed a two-month journey with around 35 shows across the US. The tour's name was inspired by a quote from the movie The Samaritan: "If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been. Nothing changes unless you make it change."
After returning to Portugal in 2018, I focused on making new music but missed the human connection of live performances. Now, I'm reviving the tour in 2025, starting in Lisbon and traveling through Europe for three and a half months. Unlike the 2017 tour, this time I will be traveling solo and performing my Sir Giant songs, which blend reggae, rock, and ska. The tour's core message remains: inspiring people to step outside their comfort zones and actively pursue their dreams.
Estimated Expenses (scroll to the bottom to check the detailed version)
€2,000 (second-hand car) + €535 (car expenses) + €1,209.68 (fuel) + €40 (ferry) + €862.5 (food) = €4,647.18
Since GoFundMe charges fees, the total amount I need to raise is around €4,862 (approximately $5,271 USD) so I can then get the €4,647.18 I need for the tour.

How It All Began
The idea for this tour first came to me in 2015 when I was living in New York. I had this dream of touring across the country by myself as an electronic music DJ (3ple), but things didn’t fall into place back then. Fast forward to 2017, I met a singer named Laurelle, and we realized we shared similar goals, so I proposed doing the tour together—she was on board. We immediately started planning everything together, contacting venues, and even using Couchsurfing to connect with people who could help with a place to sleep in each city. After 3 months of preparation, we kicked off the tour in October 2017, traveling from New York to Miami, across the West Coast, and back to New York. Over two months, we played around 35 shows— it was an amazing and unique experience.
Why I’m Bringing the Tour Back?
After living in New York for six years, I returned to Portugal in 2018, and since then, I’ve been working non-stop in my studio. I’ve released music online, but there’s been something missing—the direct connection with people that live shows bring.
I've been feeling overwhelmed by constantly working in the studio, and while I love making music, I miss that human connection and energy of performing live. That’s when the idea of reviving the Make It Change Tour hit me again. I’ve grown and learned a lot since 2017, and I know I will make this tour even better now. Back then, I had Laurelle with me, a car, we both had some extra money ourselves, and we were able to get some more through crowdfunding. Now, it’s just me planning and working on everything all by myself, and then traveling and performing also by myself. With greater clarity and focus, I can now make decisions without depending on anyone else, and I’m determined to make this happen, better than ever!
The Meaning Behind "Make It Change"
The name "Make It Change" comes from a quote that resonated with me while watching the movie The Samaritan with Samuel L. Jackson: “If you keep on doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep on being what you’ve always been. Nothing changes unless you make it change.” That line hit me hard and became a mantra for how I approach life. The tour embodies that spirit—taking control of life, pushing its boundaries, and making important changes.
The Plan for 2025
I’ve been sketching out the route, starting in Lisbon and moving through Europe. My goal is to be on the road for three and a half months, traveling and connecting with people through my music. When I return to Portugal, I plan to expand beyond Europe and take the tour worldwide. This time around, I’ll be performing with my project Sir Giant, a fusion of reggae, rock, and ska, but who knows? Maybe I’ll even plan another tour later on with my other projects.
What is The Tour All About?
The Make It Change Tour is about more than just music—it’s about reconnecting with ourselves and our dreams, stepping outside our comfort zone, and making meaningful changes in life. I’m excited to see and share where this journey takes me, hoping it inspires you to go out there and Make It Change!
⚫️ DETAILED CALCULATIONS
All of the following values are still just estimates. Things will change over time, but since I needed a "final" amount to start my GoFundMe campaign, I did some research on what the average expenses would be, so here they are:
Car
Since I don't own a car at the moment, I will have to buy one. A very decent second-hand car in Portugal can be purchased for up to €2,000. My previous car cost me €1,500, but I want to give myself some headroom, just in case there's something better available. For such a long tour, I need to find something that's reliable.
Car Expenses: Mechanic, Paperwork, and Insurance
After I purchase the car, I will have to transfer the ownership to myself, which costs €65.
Next stop is the mechanic to make sure that everything is 100% working. From my experience with my previous car, assuming that some things need to be replaced or fixed, the bill would be up to €300.
The insurance for my previous car was around €170.
TOTAL = €65 + €300 + €170 = €535
Fuel Consumption
Assuming the car I purchase is an average car that consumes 6.5 liters per 100 km, here's the breakdown for the whole tour:
- Average fuel price in Europe: €1.5 per liter.
- Total distance I will be traveling in 3 months and 23 days (June 1 through September 23): 12,407 km.
With these values, the average car consumes 0.065 liters per km. At €1.5 per liter, that's €1.5 x 0.065 liters, which means I will be spending €0.0975 per km.
€0.0975 x 12,407 km = €1,209.68 for fuel.
Ferry Germany-Denmark
At one point, I will have to take the ferry from Fehmarn in Germany to Rødby in Denmark. I could go around by land, but I decided to always take unique routes and experience different things along the way. Based on my research, the ferry costs €40 one way (the round trip will be by land).
Food
I won't be having gourmet meals, of course, so I estimate that I will be spending €7.5 a day on food, on average. As much as this may sound "unrealistic" to some people, trust me, it's not, for what and how I eat.
I will be on the road for 115 days, so 115 x €7.5 = €862.5 for food.
TOTAL
€2,000 (car) + €535 (car expenses) + €1,209.68 (fuel) + €40 (ferry) + €862.5 (food) = €4,647.18
GoFundMe Fees
GoFundMe charges 2.9% + 30 cents per transaction, so I need to raise more than €4,647.18 to cover those fees.
I'm aware that it's hard to predict how much each person will donate, but I worked with an average donation of €20 per person, just to give me an overall idea. With that amount, I need to raise €4,862 (approximately $5,271 USD) so I can then deduct the fees and end up with the €4,647.18 I need.
Again, all of these values I'm presenting are estimates. Along the way, things will most definitely change, and I will adjust the campaign goal to meet those new values, as well as share that new info online.
