Make It Rain for Monte

On September 29, 2019, Monte McEntee suffered from a seizure. He was flown from Julesburg, CO to Swedish Medical Center in Denver where he received a day full of tests. It was determined that he had a tumor in his brain. Monte underwent brain surgery only to find out that the tumor was inoperable due to the location and only a biopsy could be performed. On October 2, 2019, Monte, his wife Carolyn, and son Gunner, received the heartbreaking diagnosis of Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), grade 4, brain cancer. GBM is the most aggressive, fastest growing, cancerous brain tumor one can have and requires aggressive treatment. There is no cure or knowledge where it comes from and unfortunately, it is terminal. Longevity average is 12 to 18 months.
Monte worked for Cabela’s Corporate Office in Sidney, NE for 7 years as the Replenishment and Allocation Analyst for boats, ATVs and trailers. He says it was the best job he ever had and loved the company. Prior to that, he worked for UPS for 17 years where he worked in the hub, was a package car driver and was a tractor/trailer driver. Monte’s last job was a truck driver for Transpro Burgener based out of Windsor, CO. He is no longer able to work due to this horrible disease.
If you have ever come into contact with Monte, know him or are friends with him, he has more than likely impacted you in some way. He would give the shirt off his back to you even if it was the last one that he has. His quick wit and humor have either made you laugh, cry or pissed you off. He has incredible charisma and may have tried to charm you. His intelligence and use of big words has probably surprised you. He is ornery and stubborn but is a true warrior and is now fighting for his life.
The family is faced with some financial burdens for travel, medical insurance premiums, deductibles and expenses. Carolyn’s employer made her part time in December. Monte does not have life insurance or disability and will never work again. Anything you can give, large or small, is so deeply appreciated.
