Pay for new a Headstone after Poppy’s was vandalised

Hi my name is Lisa: I am fundraising on behalf of close friends of mine who’s daughters grave was vandalised this morning resulting in her Headstone being smashed beyond repair.

Poppy’s mum Laura Griffin is absolutely heartbroken that some human being could do this to her child’s grave,

Poppy is buried in St Mary’s cemetery Sutton in Ashfield, she would have been celebrating her 11th birthday in January but passed away at just 3 hours old.

Laura and her family are broken beyond words, and can not understand why someone would do this to their babies resting place, Laura who’s baby bother who is also in the same cemetery have had to endure years of heartache when properly off their babies graves are stolen, not just theirs but also the majority of the babies in that cemetery have had items stolen.

We have appealed to Ashfield district council for over 19 years to get the cemetery sorted, safe and looking like a peaceful place for our children to rest. In 2023 CCTV was installed and even this doesn’t stop people taking items off these babies graves, and when we ask for the footage it’s either not working or it’s pointing in the wrong direction.

I am asking as their friend, as a community that we pull together once more and make poppy’s resting place beautiful once again.
