Make My Dream of Becoming a Paramedic a Reality

Hello everyone,

I never thought I would do this, but I am reaching out to you all for support. I have been on a journey to pursue my passion for helping others by studying Paramedic Science at university. Unfortunately, I find myself in a challenging situation where I am no longer eligible for financial assistance from the government or student finance due to already holding a degree.

When I was 18, I felt the pressure to attend university without truly knowing my calling in life. I chose a degree that no longer resonates with me, but it was a decision made when I was young and had no idea what I wanted to do in life. I felt pressure to follow a particular subject and later in life realised that numbers and targets don't make me happy, I love to help and save lives, this is my calling in life and the pressure to be something I'm not has taken away this opportunity for me. However, life has a way of guiding us, and after ten years of soul-searching and working in the medical field, I have found my true calling – becoming a paramedic.

For the past two years, I have dedicated my life to helping others, I attend various events and work as a medical responder to make sure everyone is safe and looked after. I have also worked at the Hospital and supported our nurses and doctors. Every day, I wake up with a sense of purpose, knowing that I am making a difference in people's lives. My experiences have solidified my desire to become a paramedic, and I have worked so hard to gain relevant experience and additional qualifications in science and medicine.

However, my dream of becoming a Paramedic can only be done through University. Despite my strong dedication, I am faced with the financial burden of tuition fees. Because I already hold a degree, I am not eligible for the financial assistance that would otherwise support my educational pursuits. This is where I ask for your help.

This is more than just a career choice for me - it is my passion, my dream. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to pursue education, regardless of their financial circumstances or background. Education should be a right, not a privilege reserved for the fortunate few.
