Make Pierre Weird Again: A Rock Shows Family Reunion

Hi! My name is Taman and I’m organizing this fundraiser in order to help bring to fruition a music scene reunion/music and arts festival this August in central South Dakota, titled MAKE PIERRE WEIRD AGAIN: A ROCK SHOWS FAMILY REUNION.

I was once a central figure in the act of catching lightning in a bottle that was - punk, indie, folk, hip-hop, jazz, electronic - rock shows in the quite remote town of Pierre, South Dakota. Most of you know the story, so I won't elaborate further other than to say that there was a book published in 2016 documenting the history of the scene that can be found by searching This Road Leads to Nowhere: Pierre Punk.

In 2016, I set off to bring our scene family together again for the This Road Leads to Nowhere reunion festival that coincided with the release of the aforementioned book above. The reunion festival was a massive success; friends and family had a most excellent time and immediately talks began about doing it again "in a few years." Now here we are, eight years after Road to Nowhere and we are doing it again!

This crowdfunding campaign's purpose is to raise funds for all operational costs included in organizing this music & arts festival - with a family reunion spirit.

Your donated funds will be used as follows:

Venue rental, flyering and promotional costs; PA and sound equipment rental; Paying performers, including food & drink accommodations; All other costs incurred in producing a multi-day music and arts festival - these will be paid directly to vendors and performers, by Taman, from the total funds raised via this campaign.

There will be bands - reunited locals, some new and some old; live art, karaoke, group activities and plenty of time for catching up with old friends! A schedule of activities will be released in early August. Updates will be announced along the way.
