Support BSA Jamboree DEI Programming
Tax deductible
Every four years, the Boy Scouts of America hosts a National Jamboree, where thousands of Scouts from around the country come together for adventure, to learn from each other, and to make lifelong friends. The next National Jamboree will be held this summer (July 19-28, 2023) at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia. At this summer’s National Jamboree, the theme will be “Forward”. The movement is moving forward, together, inclusively. For the first time, the BSA is hosting community spaces for Scouts of Color, Women in Scouting, and LGBTQ+ and Allied Scouts.
Before Scouts can participate in kayaking, ziplining, and mountain biking, they first must feel safe and welcomed.
The community spaces will serve as a meeting space for Scouts to come together to learn, have fun, and be inspired. Across the community spaces, we plan to offer opportunities for Scouts to:
- Build connections and friendships with others.
- Participate in activities and games.
- Grow in their understanding of how members of their community have contributed to bettering Scouting and society.
- Learn best practices for maintaining inclusive environments.
- Get keepsakes and giveaways, such as patches, wristbands,
- Share their dreams and hopes for an inclusive future.
The Friends of ArrowPride 501(c)3 is spearheading fundraising to cover the logistical costs (tent, walls, chairs, tables, etc) and programmatic costs (activities, decor, printing, patches, giveaways, etc) of all three community spaces, and we need your help to bring these spaces to life.
By contributing, you’ll help to ensure that this Jamboree is a place where every Scout experiences belonging.
- A gift of $50 could brighten the space with affirming decorations, like flags and posters
- A gift of $300 could provide a whole unit with inclusive swag, like patches and neckerchiefs to display proudly
- A gift of $1,500 could fund one of the three program areas for one entire day (you will be listed as the sponsor for the day)
