Make Yolandi's Last Days Joyful and Pain-Free

*** update 10/30/24 Yolandis biopsy result is indicating potentially a rare autoimmune condition only ever seen in humans rather then cancer which could greatly impact her prognosis if confirmed and if the right blend of medication is found. This is amazing news, although the vet believes she is currently in a lot of pain based on how inflammatory her cells are. So for now we carry on with pain meds and antibiotics while they further test her biopsies and while we get into contact with a dental specialist who deals with autoimmune issues in the mouth. I will continue with your help to fight for Yolandi to have the most comfortable life possible for as long as possible and hopefully that will be extended past 8 months!
Yolandi has been my best friend for nearly 8 years. She rescued me in Denver Colorado where I would watch her double in size like Clifford with each year of love. She grew into the funniest and cutest 130 lb baby. She has been with me through every hard, beautiful, funny, painful, and joyful moment. Her love has touched everyone she has met and the world is better by her being in it. From her clever singing to her ability to unlock and open doors she is the best thing since sliced bread. It has been the honor of my life to raise her and be her mom throughout her seasons . It will now be the greatest honor of my life to care for her in her final season. On Wednesday October 23rd of 2024 Yolandi underwent 3 biopsies on her tongue and gums. The doctor called mid procedure to tell me this is oral cancer. We are waiting for staging to know what treatment options are available to keep her comfortable and slow the growth of the tumors. Yolandi is given the range of 3 days to 8 months currently. I kindly ask that you help me to make her comfortable, allow me the flexibility to care for her on her hard days and to give her some epic adventures and treats along the way. Dogs are our best friends, may we savor the time we have with them and may we allow them to age with dignity when the time comes. Please help me to help yolandi.
