MakeIT Haverhill (MIH) Opened June 2019!
In June 2019 we launched a “Collaborative Work / Maker Space” for the challenged Mt Washington Neighborhood and all of Haverhill at a renovated 301 Washington Street~2000 SF commercial space.
Our goal is to raise at least $3K to begin to fund staffing in addition to neighborhood volunteers to keep the space open as many hours as possible.
About MakeIT Haverhill (MIH)
The Mt Washington neighborhood is the most economically challenged (highest poverty, highest unemployment, etc) in Haverhill. Focusing on lifting up the neighborhood and all of Haverhill, we have formed MakeIT Haverhill, a partnership between Community Action, Inc. [a Haverhill (MA) 501(c)(3) non-profit, John Cuneo, President & CEO] and Urban Kindness [the Haverhill (MA) Mt Washington Neighborhood Group, Keith Boucher, Chairperson].
MakeIT Haverhill will make available tools of innovation, providing a community space of high-tech and low-tech equipment including internet access, 14 laptop computers, three 3D Printers and six sewing machines. MIH is a place where job seekers and those who want to start a small business, can share ideas, network, learn, receive job training and generate job / and business opportunities.
