Makenna-Cancer Diagnosis

Hi! My name is Kathy. I'm raising funds for my brother Travis and my 15 year old niece, Makenna. They recently received news no parent or child should ever have to hear!

Makenna has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, Stage 2. The good news is this form of cancer has a very high survival rate. The bad news is Makenna will have to endure multiple rounds of chemo over the next few months to get there. These treatments will make it necessary for my brother, a single dad, to take extensive time off work to care for Makenna and transport her to and from appointments at the University of Iowa. and elsewhere. I realize its a big goal, but I'd like to raise at least $10,000 to help my brother out with various expenses. My main concerns are mortgage payments, transportation costs, expenses insurance won't cover, etc. My brother is going to have a lot to worry about over the next several months.
