Makenzie Harvey- Strong, Smart & Beautiful❤️

My name is Melissa Harvey and I am the grandmother of Makenzie Grace Harvey. She is a 12 month old beautiful, animated, loving, sweet, soul and the daughter of Emily Kriegisch and my son Brandon Harvey. Her other loving grandparents include Stephanie and Leonard Kriegisch, Chad Huggins and Ron Pilarski.

Two weeks ago Makenzie suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) caused by a skull fracture and brain bleed. I am unable to include specific details as to how this injury occurred but please know this is not from a fall and did not occur while she was in the care of an any of her family members. She has been continually fighting for her life at different times throughout these past three weeks. She is currently hospitalized at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Delaware in the PICU unit( Pediatric Intensive Care a unit) and receiving the best possible care. Her condition is evaluated/monitored hourly throughout each day. The hospital is located 1 hour away from home. Makenzies parents, myself, Chad, Stephanie, Leonard and Ron have been providing constant support throughout this entire nightmare. The worry and stress has been overwhelming for everyone and it is especially causing a heavy financial burden to Mom and Dad. Emily has lost her job due to being at Makenzie side continuously. Baby Mak has many months of recovery ahead of her and this will disrupt Brandon and Emily’s ability to work. Mak is currently still on a ventilator, she had drains to her brain that were successfully removed a day ago but she is battling a fever at this time. Her recovery will include extensive therapies and many follow up appointments. We are asking for prayers from all prayer warriors and any donations that are made will go to all of Makenzies care.
