HELP US TO REBUILD OUR HOME
Donation protected
First and foremost, thank you to all for the donations that our family have received thus far, toward helping with the improvements to our home. Big or small any donation has been a blessing. Thanks to our landlord, they donated the last two payments and we now own our own home. Also, with the donations we were able to patch the roof to stop the leaking and hope to be able to replace in the spring. One wall on side of house had severe termite damage so repaired that to keep drafts out. Next the insulation will be replaced that was due to water damage from windows leaking and roof. Although the repairs are slow we are so thankful that we are able to make improvements. The kids are estatic. In the meantime, my kind neighbor has opened her heart and home to be able to cook, bathe, and sleep while we get the house liveable again. Bless her heart. She also has medical issues so we help each other out. That’s what life is about helping each other out. We are blessed. Next will be the insulation and electrical. It will take some time yet hopeful. My younger sister fell ill earlier this this year and lost two thirds of her pancreas. She was in hospital two months. My mom and sister when my other sister was stable came to gut the inside of the house to see where all the damage was at and where the electrical problem was coming from. The house is just a frame due to all being lost to water damage. Had to especially get rid of mold. A small overview. The roof was struggling already. There was a wet spring and roof and windows leaked. No electricity so no air conditioning and with heat of summer caused mold issues. The hot water heater caught on fire damaging washer and dryer next to it. Electrical shorted out. Salvaged what I could but lost most everything. Long story short trying to deal with my own health and little income I was overwhelmed to get it fixed. Too much failed too fast. The bright side. I own my own home mostly paid on my own for my children.
Whom are 12, 11, and 8. Not the Taj Mahal, but its our castle and can’t be evicted. But could loose if taxes can't be paid. Living here is fairly inexpensive which has helped me and kids to survive. The schools are wonderful. We like the area. When my health gets improved our hope is to give back what we can in the future. We have always tried to pay it forward and help others. It’s a wonderful feeling without expecting anything in return. I look forward to returning to work or finishing my college degree. Just a bump in the road of life. Without transportation I have put Medical on hold. (Axle broke on car), I have no choice. I believe it will all come together when it is supposed to. I did find a doctor who is ready to help me when I am able. That is important and continues to give me hope. Finally, I have three wonderful children. Still full of kindness and full hearts without expecting anything. The way I learned to grow up. Life made simpler. We didn’t get to spend the holiday with family but we were together in our hearts and spirits. We all are thankful. Please share for us. We appreciate it.
