Support Student Makers!!

We’re a club working across departments to provide equipment and opportunities for interactive student engagement for the new Innovation in Informatics (in)3 makerspace. With your contributions, we will purchase a 3D Printer that can be used to print prosthetic hands to be used by children in the community. This is part of the larger nationwide E-nable project. We already made our first proof-of-concept hand (see above picture), but need funding to support this project to literally get this into the hands of kids in the community.
Any 3D printers or purchased equipment will be housed on campus, accessible to all students (whether inside or outside the club). This project is student-run and focused. This equipment will be placed in the new campus makerspace, we already have the space on campus and A LOT of students interested. We just need some seed money to make this a reality.
In additional to the E-nable project, we will use the equipment to open up opportunities for innovation, promotion of diversity, expanding entrepreneurship opportunities and building a strong sense of community on campus. Makerspaces are synonymous with creativity, experimentation and innovation. In a makerspace, bringing together passionate, creative people literally builds great things.
As mentioned earlier, the purchased 3D printer will support our primary focus to provide 3D printed prosthetic hands for children. We have already been in touch with individuals on campus that are committed to get this project integrated into course curriculum, providing both a valuable learning experience and help to children in need.

Thanks for your generous support!
