Kas Makhni Battles Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

Friends, family, and colleagues of the Makhni Family:

I am setting up this GoFundMe in support of our friends Karam (Kas), Katrina, and their girls Amara (6) and Sienna (18 months).

After years of caring for other people’s health as a physician, Kas has been battling a rare and aggressive type of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for the past year. He is currently undergoing treatment at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, with a primary diagnosis of T-cell/histiocyte-rich large B-cell lymphoma. After two lines of unsuccessful treatment, he now needs to receive lifesaving therapy in the form of a bone marrow transplant. In the meantime, he is receiving ongoing chemotherapy, 48-hour blood transfusions and regular scans.

Throughout this time, there has been an outpouring of support from friends, family, and our community. 

As time has gone by, many have asked if there is more that they could do to support Kas, Kat and the girls. This gofundme was set up to help relieve some of the burdens of Kas’s ever-increasing medical bills, out of pocket costs for the bone marrow transplant not covered by insurance and his road to recovery.
