- A 36-year-old Irvington man has died following an early Tuesday morning crash at the intersection of Route 1 and Grandview Avenue.
Makiano Francois suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where he died, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.
Around 12:07 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a crash at the intersection. When officers arrived, they found two vehicles, a Ford Explorer driven by a 48-year-old Brooklyn man and a Mitsubishi driven by Francois.
The driver of the Explorer suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was treated and released.
Additional information about the crash has not been released.
