Making a differance to a Terminally ill Family

Hello My Name is Steven Hind.

The 5th of August 2000 will forever be the worst day of my life. This is the day I was told that my beautiful Mam had passed away and my life changed forever.

My Mam fought a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a type of cancer which attacks the body’s lymph nodes.

I was only 10 years old when she lost her battle with this terrible disease. I have struggled with the loss of my mam ever since. The grief I have suffered has, at times been unbearable and has caused me to suffer with my mental health.

I do carry a lot of sad memories of this time but I always try to focus on the happy memories I have. Some of my best memories are of the family holidays we enjoyed and the time that we got to spend together. These are the memories I will cherish forever.

Because of my personal experiences I would like to raise some money to give a family in a similar situation a holiday and a chance to make some beautiful memories. I would also like to help a local group of children who get together regularly with a bereavement councillor through willow burn hospice.

To raise money for these very deserving causes I have signed up to Premier White Collar Boxing. I am currently in training for my boxing match on the 11th March 2023. The training is intense but I’m enjoying the focus and I’m feeling confident and hope to win my fight, but for me, what matters the most is raising as much money as I can for these worthy causes that are very close to my heart.
