Making a difference for the Kappa Kastle!

Dear Alumni Brothers, Family, and Friends of Kappa Sigma Epsilon,
For those who are unfamiliar with me, I am Ben Crenshaw, a Black Paddle Era brother, one of the first.
Since my return to New York from the west coast in November 2019, I'm confident when I say that I have not missed a summit, or crossover. During my 5 years in California, I have missed the crossing of about 10 classes. I don't want to miss any more than that.
I choose to attend these functions not to party with the boys. I go to see my fraternity brothers and share a special moment with them. It's not about partying. These functions are meant to further bring us together as a family; strengthening the bond of brotherhood. Also to show the Actives that fun can be achieved and maintained without alcohol.
Food is a large part of these weekends. Food is also a large part of a college students' life. We eat well, very well. Normally the meals are planned and executed by myself and Tom and Whipple.
I thoroughly enjoy cooking for my boys. A good hot meal brings a lasting smile to the Actives and Alumni, and for me, seeing that fills my heart with joy. The Active Brothers, aside from their flaws of youthfulness, deserve praise and good meals for the work they put into community and Fraternity.
For these summits and crossovers, I prepare and cook in my kitchen and transport food to Delhi. I haul my own equipment down, set-up, cook, clean, and breakdown and return home. Or we coordinate with community advisors and honorary brothers to use their equipment. Either way, we get the job done and it's a great time.
I invested in a Blackstone 36" Flat-top grill for my business and personal use. I brought it with me for the Fall '23 Crossover to alleviate pressure from myself while cooking for the brothers. The versatility of this piece of equipment is incredible. Not to mention the Active Brothers were drooling over how 'cool' this thing was. Needless to say, they want one. It makes life easier when having to cook for 25-30 people at a time.
I am asking for support from our Alumni, Family, and Friends to help procure better equipment for hosting these events at our prized 727 Scotch Mtn Rd Kappa Kastle. The hope is to further draw in more Alumni to attend these events, and also to make it easier for the Alumni to host these events.
I will also volunteer to host classes to teach the Actives how to properly use and maintain the equipment we hope this fundraiser will allow us to procure.
We can use this as another opportunity to help better our Active Brothers in becoming well rounded men in the real world. The cooking classes and preventative maintenance classes will further benefit our young brothers and hopefully draw more prospects to the organization.
I hope this message finds you in a positive light and generous mood. Our goal is to secure a Blackstone Grill and a good size traditional grill/smoker along with appropriate cooking utensils.
We opted for GO FUND ME because it is safe and easy. Know that your anticipated generosity will serve us and our young Active Brothers well for years to come. Thanks, Fraternally,
Chef Benjamin Crenshaw
