Making A Splash!

Hi! My name’s Lindsey and I am making a splash for Forget Me Not’s big appeal. Forget Me Not are a charity established to provide essential care to children with life-shortening conditions, their families and families living with the loss of their child across West Yorkshire. They provide high quality, bespoke, specialist services for mums and dads to be, babies, children, and their families, who are coping with life-shortening conditions and living with loss across West Yorkshire.

They have launched an urgent appeal after announcing that they face a funding gap of £1million!

I have worked for The Next Step Trust, a charity based in Calderdale supporting adults with complex health needs, learning disabilities and autism for just over 7 years and have seen the direct impact Forget Me Not has had for some of the Next Steppers and their families that I support, some of whom we have sadly recently lost. This is dedicated to them!

I am taking on the challenge of swimming the distance from The Hoover Building in Halifax, Next Steps main Day Service, to the hospice in Huddersfield and back not once, but twice!
This is a distance of 28 miles or 45062 metres!
I will be completing this challenge over a 2-week period from 17th Feb- 3rd March, hopefully joined by some special friends along the way. All of the money I raise will be donated to Forget Me Not in addition to £610 that was successfully raised at Next Step in the run up to Christmas.

Thank you for your support & wish me luck!
