Remembering Michelle

Our dear friend Michelle Marchetti went to be with Jesus on Sunday 11/19/23. A month before she passed, Michelle asked me to create a GoFundMe page because she wanted to help her husband Vince with their enormous medical bills. Michelle knew then that her time left was nearing its end, and in the midst of it all, her heart was focused on wanting to help Vince.

During her 8 year battle with Neuroendocrine Cancer, Michelle fought the spreading and growth of endless tumors throughout her body, low blood glucose levels, excessive water weight, and so much more. As Michelle fought this disease, the medical costs have piled on. While Michelle has experienced so much goodness over the last 8 years, she has quietly (and bravely) fought a battle that stretched her beyond measure. We could never adequately describe the physical and emotional pain she walked through. She had multiple surgeries while also undergoing countless chemotherapy treatments, radiation, and several clinical trials over the last 8 years. Aside from the love of God in her life, Vince was Michelle’s constant. His love never wavered. He was by her side through every moment…the joyful ones along with the dark moments that came with this disease. 

While our hearts ache over the loss of Michelle, we know what it’s like to be on the receiving end of her love. When we think of her love, we can’t help but smile. Her love is gentle, generous, and complete with everything that is good. Her faith in Jesus shined bright and exuded from her every pore.

Michelle & Vince loved each other fiercely. Michelle loved her children Tyler, Robin, Kyle and Matt with everything she had. Her grandchildren, Noah, Behr, and Cayden stole her heart and gave her more joy than she ever imagined. Michelle loved her extended family, along with many friends, her medical care team, and everyone she met along the way. She touched the lives of so many…including mine. Over 2 years ago, Michelle joined my eGroup at Elevation Church. For 2.5 years, each member of our small women’s group grew in our faith. We healed from past trauma, we sought and received the freedom that only Jesus can give. We read God’s Word together and grew in our faith. Miles apart we all were, but our love for each other could not be closer nor more felt. This fundraiser is coming from the heart of every woman who was in our eGroup. Our Michelle needs us all. Vince now being in a place to accept this help is an answered prayer. This is what Michelle wanted.

We are trusting and believing God will move this financial mountain for Vince. Please also keep Vince, their children, and grandchildren in your prayers as they walk through this tremendous loss.

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. Matthew 17:20
