Making memories for Sarah
Earlier this year, Sarah was tragically diagnosed with cervical cancer at 21 weeks pregnant and was advised to terminate her pregnancy. Knowing she was having a beautiful and healthy little baby boy, Sarah selflessly put his life before hers and wanted to give him the best chance at life. Sarah had chemotherapy in the last few weeks of pregnancy and had baby Louis via c section at 31 weeks pregnant. She had a hysterectomy and continued with chemotherapy and then daily radiotherapy.
Baby Louis is now 6 months old and thriving, he still has some eating difficulties and is fed via a feeding tube but he is alive and well thanks to his mums bravery. Sarah has two other children, Lily age 9 and Bobbie age 7. The children are not aware at this stage that their Mum is terminally ill so for anyone who knows the family PLEASE do not mention it in front of the children as it is Sarah’s right to tell them herself when she feels the need to
On Monday 9th November 2020 Sarah and her family were given some heartbreaking news. The cancer has come back and has spread to her lungs and lymph nodes. With chemotherapy she has been given 2 years to live. As you can imagine, this has been a terrible shock to all involved and with lockdown things are even more harrowing.
I have set up this fundraiser with permission from Sarah’s family to help them financially during this extremely difficult time. We also want to make sure Sarah gets to make lots of special memories with her children and family. We want to make every second count and the ultimate goal is to give Sarah and James their dream wedding and to be able to take their beautiful children on holiday at this very distressing time (as soon as lockdown is over). Please help me to help Sarah make some wonderful memories.
