Updates posted at the end of story FYI

My Name is Diana Kucharski. I am starting this Go Fund me for Malachi Grandberry and His family. As the family are enduring a very hard time right now.

About Malachi:
Malachi graduated from Lake Orion High in 2022 where he was a star athlete on Lake Orion Highschool's basketball team. Playing Varsity basketball from 2019-2022. Malachi's love for basketball and his gift was evident from as early as 5 years old. Malachi also enjoyed playing at basketball of America and anywhere there was a hoop and a ball. I can remember Malachi throwing anything in the air as a young child.
 About Malachi's family:
Malachi's Mom Teresa Gray has been a school bus driver for 17 years for differnt public school districts. Malachi's Dad Kendall also works along side Malachi at Oxford High school. Malachi also has younger brother Gabriel and a younger sister Anna who also attend Lake Orion High.

Malachi's Hospitalization
On February 23, 2024 Malachi was rushed to St Joe's Mercy Hospital in Pontiac where he suffered over 40 seizures, he had a hemorrhagic stroke.Malachi has been heavily sedated as well as being intubated since February 23rd. The bleed is on the right side of his brain and is quite large. Doctors have said if it were the left side it could have effected his speech, memory and mobility. Over the last 72 hours Doctors have closely monitored for seizures they are monitoring his heart and closely watching the swelling on his brain Malachi's blood pressure has been stable for the most part. The nurses and Doctors are giving excellent care and we know they are God's angels here on earth.

Prayer request
The absolute best thing we can offer Malachi and his family at this time are our prayers. When I visited Teresa and Malachi on saturday Teresa and I shared all the different churches and states that were praying for Malachi. I could see the HOPE on Teresa's face. I could also see that my God Son was resting and looked very comfortable. Thank You everyone for the prayers, the call, the text and the encouragement.
They are working and they are definitely lifting the heavy burden that was placed on their family.

The purpose of the Go Fund Me
I am reaching out for the sake of my best friend, her husband Kendall and my three God Children. In hopes that as family, friends, and a community we can continue to help the burden's that the family will encounter. Teresa will be taking time off of work which can be weeks or months. Kendall will be traveling daily back and forth from Lake Orion to Pontiac, possibly taking off time from work. They should not have to worry about financial burdens at this time. I am praying for this family to be able to just focus on Malachi while trying to balance their many other responsibilities.

Other helpful ways you can reach out
There has been a meal train created and within hours it was filled for the next 2 weeks to help with meals for the children and Kendall. This is what coming together is all about. My heart hurts for my best friend, her husband, their children and the Families of Lake Orion Highschool. Teresa has received, I have received many messages of individuals reaching out and wanting to help. If you find it in your heart to donate it will be appreciated. All blessings of money will go directly to Teresa Gray. They will be used to help this family as they continue this journey with Malachi and his recovery.

Request for continued prayer
Again please continue to pray daily, reach out to your prayer partners, Churches families and friends. There is power in the name of JESUS and we are confident that Malachi will make a full recovery in time.

UPDATE 2-5-24
Malachi has been stable, resting and comfortable. On March 4 Malachi he had a procedure done to have a tracheotomy put in. The procedure was successful. Throughout the week Malachi has shown some signs that he is responding to his Mother's voice. He has squeezed her hand when she has asked him too. Although Malachi is still sedated. We are looking forward to this week to see the progress that he makes. We will update again soon. Thank You to the community, friends and family that have donated. Also when making your donations there should be a option to share words of support for the family. If you have already donated you can edit to add words of support. Please continue to pray for Malachi, his family and the team that is taking care of him.
