Malaga’s Surgery
Donation protected
Hi friends,
We need vour help! I'm sad to share that my trainer, Brittney’s, horse, Malaga, has been diagnosed with pedunculated lipomas, fatty growths that hang from the tissue in the small intestine. These growths often wrap around a portion of the intestine cutting off the blood supply causing pain and death to the intestinal tissue. After screening, they identified two growths and Brittney proceeded with the surgery to remove them in order to give Malaga the best chance of survival. As many of you know, Malaga is an extremely important part of Brittney's family and our barn family and we would do anything to keep her safe and healthy. Unfortunately, once they started the surgery and removed the two lipomas, they identified numerous more that cannot be removed because they would need to resect too much of the intestine which would reduce her chance of survival.
Malaga is currently in recovery and does have a chance of survival, but it is not guaranteed. However, we are hoping that by removing these two prominent ones, the others will remain dormant and she can continue to live a normal, healthy life. We are asking for any donations, no matter how small, to help Malaga with her after care and to help ease the financial burden that this surgery has put on Brittney and her family. It is not something that they can afford, but they had to try to help their special girl. We appreciate all of your support and thank you for your kindness and generosity in giving our Malaga a chance at life.
Thank you
