Malahide RFC Pitch Development

2024 MRFC pitch development plan, which will allow for the club's ambitious growth plans to become a fully inclusive club that, as well as continuing to field at all minis and youths ages with 4 senior squads from 20s to firsts plan to bring in the same for all women's and girls levels as well as developing a new Malahide "Lions" team which will take place in Leinster rugby's mixed ability games.

We have 3 phases planned:

PHASE 1 (2024) will be the creation of a half-pitch all-weather training area replacing the current training area, moving the main playing pitch towards Seabury end

- estimated costs €400k

PHASE 2 (2025/6) Will be the development of the lower playing and training area to create an AIL standard floodlit lower grass pitch and all-weather floodlit training area - estimated cost €350k

PHASE 3 (2026/7) The purchase/long-term rental of additional land to make new pitch/training areas.

This ambitious plan is due to kick off this March with initial payment to contractors due the end of February. MRFC covers the cost of equipment for all the teams and the club and wants to keep it like this instead of diverting these funds to special projects we are asking each player to voluntarily contribute 30 euros (or more if you wish), if you are in a position to contribute.
