Malakai Cruz and family

We have been notified that the wheelchair that Malakai will need will have to have adaptations due to his leg and pelvic injuries that are not covered by insurance. 

Hello, my name is Jessica and I am fundraising for Malakai and his family.

On July 3rd, Malakai was riding a bike in Westminster, CO when he was in an accident with an RTD bus. He was pulled under, and ran over by the right tire. He was flown by flight for life by Medivac to Swedish Medical Center, where his remains in critical condition. He sustained a TBI, skull fracture, broken orbital bone, broken cheek bone, broken ribs, punctured lung, broken arm, his entire pelvis was broken and needed rebuilt, the skin and fat was ripped from his hips down to his shin, and his muscle was torn from the bone. Malakai has so far had 11 surgeries in the 26 days he's been in the hospital. He will need several painful skin grafts and cleansing surgeries to keep his leg. His mother & sister have been with him in Denver at Swedish Medical Center. She is disabled and still needs to cover household expenses and bills at home while providing for her 16 yr old, who will be going back soon for registration and the beginning of her Jr yr. While also trying to cover expenses while in Denver.
