Hawaii hospitals are experiencing a severe shortage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for our local doctors and nurses due to the novel COVID-19 outbreak.

We are raising money to help support our front line of defense against coronavirus.

100% of your donations will be used to bring in more  protective face masks for medical use.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Every $100 donated will provide a doctor/nurse in need with a one-month supply of masks.

Every $20 donated will provide a doctor/nurse in need with a one-week supply of masks. 

A small gesture can make a huge difference. 

We have already invested $5,000 of our own money to bring in 1300x face masks for our local doctors and nurses, but we need your help to get a higher volume order submitted. With $20,000 of donations, we can order another 5000x NIOSH/CDC approved N95 face masks for Hawaii's medical system.

PROCUREMENT OF FACE MASKS

With global demand for face masks exceeding production levels, it has been almost impossible to source the CDC recommended N95 masks. After weeks of searching, we were finally able to find a CDC approved manufacturer of NIOSH/FDA certified N95 masks. N95 masks can provide a filtering efficiency level designed for eliminating airborne pathogens and viruses, making them a critical necessity for our medical warriors.

The Malama Hawaii Hospitals team has been in touch with the following healthcare operations and we plan to distribute whatever we receive to the following:

Queens Medical Center - ICU, Respiratory and COVID-19 Surgeon
Kapiolani - Infectious Disease Pedeatrics
Straub - COVID-19 Team
Kuakini - Emergency Room
Navian Hawaii (Hospice Hawaii)
John A. Burns School of Medicine (UH Manoa)

WHY IT MATTERS

Historical data shows COVID-19 had a much larger impact on communities where the medical staff was not provided with PPE. Countries like Italy/Spain and states like New York are struggling to manage the spread of coronavirus because 10-12% of their confirmed COVID-19 cases are healthcare workers.
