I just want to make sure that everyone saw all the updates that I posted on hereWe have been able to move back to our home some time ago! Thank you for all your help over the years everyone!

UPDATE 5/30/18
It is with a heavy heart that I even have to write this out...
Due to the events caused from the lava and the lava it self it seems we will not be returning home anytime soon, if at all.
That means all 13 of our fur babies plus 4 humans are homeless. As of now we are in a dog kennel out in a soccer field at the pahoa shelter.. it seems all the leads I get to a house are dead ends.. please I don’t know what to do anymore. Please if you can share to get the word out or if someone can email me with a lead to a house or even just property.. We need help.
Thank you for all your support.

Hey all thank you so much for your past donations! Unfortunately we may not be able to move back into our house because of the lava event. We are either looking into buying land here on the island to build new kennels for the dogs. Or we are looking to move back to the mainland and transporting all the dogs to the mainland as well. Once settled we will build new kennels in our yard so they have run of the property and good shade! Unfortunately flying dogs to and from Hawaii is expensive so we still need your help! We need to be able to buy tickets for the dogs and crates plus have the money for their kennels when we get to our new place.
As of now we are looking into all options as things are changing daily, and it’s very hard to decide what the best option for everyone is. We are still helping other animals that are in this crisis as well. I will keep you all updated as to what the final decision is.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your continued support. Upon trying to withdraw the funds for the dogs, Gofundme informed me of some criteria I needed considering we are a non-profit organization.

Which is the following: Due to having to evacuate, a few important documents have gone missing or have been misplaced that have the information needed to deposit the funds into the Malamalama k9 bank account, as donating to a non-profit is a tax write off for you guys
I will be able to withdraw and deposit the funds as soon as Gofundme approves this new updated information as they asked us to make a disclaimer.

Disclaimer:
ALL the funds generated will be going toward our fur babies in the areas of (but not limited to)
-medical attention
-food
-medicine
-shelter

As of right now our house is still standing in Leilani Estates, but we need to look toward the future in the event we cannot go back, so we are going to be talking to our insurance and various other companies to try to re-establish ourselves in a safe zone.

Thank you again for all your support. We are going to raise the goal a little bit incase we cannot go back to our home and give our dogs shelter.
If and when the lava stops and we are allowed to move safely back into our home, all the funds above our goal will be donated to various dog rescues and sanctuary’s throughout the state of Hawaii, as well as the humane society.

Again we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
The humans-
Mandie, Keith, Michele, and Ian

And most important, thank you from our fur babies-
Denali, Bruno, Baby, Sage, Ruby, Chester, Tabitha, Libby, Cheba(aka Cheese),
Max, Rayna, Gandalf, and Rowen

Sitting here typing this out on my phone, I have noticed quite afew people who have animals in the same situation that we are in,yet they do not have a go-fund me set up, so I would like to raise the fund to 100,000 because I believe malamalama k9 can help the other types of animals here that could use medication, better food, vet visits, so far we have seen afew birds, there is at least 20-30 dogs throughout the shelter there is a piglet, there is a goose, there’s even cats, and this is only in the shelter, this is not counting, people camping in the parking lot,and the soccer/baseball fields that also have animals,I want to try and help as much as I can, I don’t expect to get the new amount donated, that was just a random number off the top of my head, BUT, if we do reach it, I want to be very clear, it all will be going toward the animals... and let me remind you.. as we are a non-profit organization anything and everything you donate is a tax write off.. thank you all very much for donating to the animals in this time of need.

Your’s truly Malamalama K9

Residents of Leilani Estates, Malamala k-9 was forced to relocate with 13 dogs of various sizes and handicaps due to the impending lava. As of now all 13 dogs and 4 people are living in a old goat incloser in nothing but tarps and tents.
This fund is for the dogs food, shelter, medicine and other daily needs.
Anything helps.
Thank you everyone for helping
