Malani Rose Harris

Hi, my name is Keisha I am raising funds on behalf of Josh and Ashlee
Meet Malani – who has had a rough start to life, when she was born she was placed on a breathing tube from having a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) along with a condition called bilateral hydronephosis (fluid built up in the kidneys). She was transferred to intensive care in Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. These problems lead to a cascade of events and multiple surgeries, firstly she had nephrostomy tubes inserted to help drain the fluid. After the tubes were inserted she then had stents to keep the fluid draining from the kidneys.
This unfortunately didn’t work as well as what the doctors had hoped, her kidneys only function at 5% which now requires Malani to have peritoneal dialysis and await for a kidney transplants.
She underwent another surgery to have a tap inserted so that she can have dialysis and insertion of a tube in her stomach so that she may be fed through her stomach.
During this time Ashlee and Josh haven’t been able to work, unable to see their other son in Mildura. They are staying at Ronald McDonald House in Melbourne and have a long road ahead and are expected to be in Melbourne for 2-3 months learning dialysis, how to feed by the peg tube and to hopefully soon bring Malani home and be a family.
All funds raised will help with bills, fuel and medical cost.
