Malden Comes Together for Haiti
We are a coalition of community members, candidates, elected officials, and veterans coming together to provide culturally sensitive crisis response and direct relief for Haiti's most vulnerable population. We are specifically providing shelter by way of tents, tarps, and bed pads. Our goal is to raise $15,000 that includes a container & customs at $3000 and $12,000 for 120 units of items @ $100/unit (tarps, tents, bed pads = 1 unit). We are working with The Ceide family of Malden and Greg Gourgue on the ground in Haiti. Greg will be monitoring port to port transportation.
Gregory Gourgue is a 22 year veteran in the US ARMY NATIONAL GUARD and served in Iraq from 2008-2009. He has organically been participating in social work projects in Haiti over the past 17 years. He has worked on many projects to serve the most vulnerable areas in the South of Haiti such as a yearly backpack drive which provides backpacks to 300 children. He also organizes gifts for Haitian children during the holidays. He has worked with Haitian healthcare providers to set up medical mobile clinics to areas where access to hospitals are limited.
When times are hard they say look for the helpers so be a helper and pledge a donation for direct relief now.
