Maleni's Recovery

This fundraiser is being organized by Maleni's cousin (Lorenzo) on behalf of the family.

On Monday, January 16, 2023 at approximately 12:30AM, Maleni Mendoza Garcia was the victim of a hit-and-run by a white Ford utility van near 26th Street and Lyndale Avenue in Minneapolis, MN. Maleni is in critical condition and continues to fight for her life.

Maleni is a Minneapolis native who was raised in North Minneapolis and now resides in South Minneapolis. She is a strong advocate for social justice, a dedicated community organizer, and an admired leader. Maleni always put others first, and went above and beyond to support, care for, and protect everyone around her. Now is our time to show her the same level of support.
