Malik M. Brown Memorial Scholarship 2024

Donation protected
Let's help a U-46 high school senior make their college dream come true!

The Brown family has established the Malik M. Brown Memorial Scholarship in memory of Malik M. Brown, our beloved son, nephew, cousin, grandson and South Elgin High School student-athlete, who passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2021 at the age of 17. It was established in 2022 to provide a graduating senior an opportunity to continue their education.

$1000 will be awarded to an African American or Hispanic senior student in the U-46 school district with plans to attend Elgin Community College in the fall of 2024.

2024 marks the 3rd year of the scholarship. And each year we ask ourselves the same question - Can we really pull this off?!

Last year we exceeded our goal and raised $1,971.89. Because of that we were fortunate to award scholarships to 3 students:

Michelle Soto, Elgin H.S.
Juan Andres Molano Ruiz, Elgin H.S.
Imani Blanchard, Larkin H.S.

Thank you to all the donors and supporters who made this possible!

Can we pull it off again this year? Our goal is to reach 100 donors. Your $10 donation will help us reach our $1000 goal.

Are you willing to PLEDGE 10 to help send another U-46 student to college?
