Our plan to distribute funds in nearly complete. As soon as we have the go ahead from gofundme John Hillier (Lions Club Treasurer) and I will be getting together at the Bendigo Bank to draw them down for transfer into the Lions Transactions Account so that they Lions Club can write a cheque to each local family who lost their primary place of residence - whether they were owners or renting. Families can then use the money in whatever way they need to.

Getting ready to put your donations to work. Now (almost) have a complete list of people who lost their homes and the funds we have so far are going straight to them. We really appreciate your donations and, importantly, your continued sharing of this page. I'm so glad to have the Mallacoota Lions Club behind me in this project. Not only because I know that not one cent will be wasted but also because I know that their on the ground efforts will be behind us all the way. I just love the way this Lions team gets *&%# done!! So important for our LONG journey to recovery!

The town of Mallacoota was hit by an apocalyptic firestorm yesterday (New years Eve). Brave firefighters and local heroes battled all day to save lives and homes. Luckily we all survived. Sadly many homes were lost and many families have lost everything.
The fund will be administered by a small team at the Mallacoota Lions Club. Team members will be ineligible to receive any funds raised.
Please donate if you possibly can. Even the smallest donations will help us and be accepted with love.
If you can’t donate you can still help us by sharing our gofundme page with everyone you can think of. Please share and share some more. Thanks so much.
with love,
Mallacoota
