Mallory Needs Your Help

Mallory developed COVID the week before Christmas and was experiencing a severe headache, along with multiple other symptoms. The day before Christmas Mallory woke up and was not able to see properly, this continued to worsen. On December 26, 2022, Mallory went into UMASS hospital, where she spent over a week going through several grueling tests before she was finally diagnosed with Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH).
IIH happens when high pressure around the brain causes vision changes and headaches. Doctors cannot figure out the source of this issue for Mallory. She has also been diagnosed with long COVID but again we do not know if this is the primary cause or not, we are only speculating that it is since she has never had any issues like this in the past and it appeared suddenly during her COVID infection. Mallory has also lost her sense of taste and smell which has yet to return.
She is a Chef and her limited vision along with the loss of taste and smell is a major impediment on her chosen profession. She is still unable to work. Those of you in the food industry certainly know how devastating this current situation for Mallory is.
Since this ordeal began in early December, Mallory has not been able to work, nor has she returned to work yet. Since her eyes are affected she has limited vision therefore driving amongst all other daily activities is a major challenge for her. Another major factor is that Mallory lives in New Hampshire and was down visiting her Mom for Christmas when this all happened. Unfortunately, she did not have any medical coverage since she was out of state. Mounting medical expenses and monthly bills have placed Mallory in a very unfortunate financial crisis. Those of you who know Mal, know she is an independent, responsible, single woman who has never gone through anything like this before. The stress of being in this financial need is also affecting her healing process.
We are praying that this is a temporary situation but doctors do not know when or if this condition will be healed. Mallory is currently on medication and some of her vision has improved, but, it is still far from 100%. Any financial relief you may be able to provide will be greatly appreciated and will certainly help with the healing process since stress can be a major factor of IIH.
Please help us to help her heal. We are grateful for any financial support you may be able to provide.
With love and many thanks,
