Mama D's Healing Fund
Donation protected
Blessings community,
We are writing this on behalf of Mama “D”. Due to the gravity of the situation we will be keeping her anonymous to protect her and her family as they grieve and heal.
What happened:
On Monday, October 25th, 2021 Mama “D” spontaneously went into labor. After noticing some blood while in labor it was discovered that her uterus had ruptured. She had an emergency cesarean. Her Baby transitioned due to the lack of blood flow, she had a hysterectomy due to her uterus rupturing. Mama “D” almost didn't make it, too. She received 9 bags of blood (almost double the amount of blood we have in our entire body, for reference we hold 5) to keep her stable. She is now healing from having surgery and grieving the loss of her baby.
What is needed:
This family needs our community to raise funds which will go towards living expenses, ceremony fees, burial cost, and keeping them afloat.
Right now you can help ease this family's financial stress which is essential to their process by donating to this fund which will only begin to alleviate some of the current stressors in this family’s life.
Grief is an experience that requires presence, tender loving care, and gentleness. At a time where so much is changing, let the experience of grief be one that we recreate meaning for (one where community is involved and where one isn’t alone). By supporting this family monetarily in this way, you’re supporting their healing process, and you’re redefining what it means to mourn and experience loss.
Having communal support is necessary for our health and well-being. The losses this family is experiencing are dense on their own. With that being said, subtracting the hassle of financial obligations is a deeply impactful form of support. It allows for community to pour in and uplift this family during their integration and healing. Securing funds for basic needs will allow Mama and her family the space to focus on integrating their experience and center their healing. Additionally, it will expand mama’s capacity to be present in her grief, with her children and family instead of stressing about finances.
The family is grateful for any and all love donations and we are confident that our vast, loving community will pull up for our relative at a time when they most need our love.
Other ways to support the family (if you cannot monetarily at the moment) include but aren’t limited to uplifting prayers for the family and sharing this fundraiser far and wide.
