MAMA GEORGIA RIP

Donation protected
Hello everyone! My name is Mina, I'm the oldest daughter of Georgia Quasim, who due to surgery complications, she lost her life!

Losing your mother is one of the most heartbreaking things anybody can go through. It is even more devastating to lose your mother to a surgical procedure that should have been safe, uncomplicated, and survivable.

My mother Georgia, had surgery on her spine and the wound was closed with staples. Staple use has been voted against being used in spine surgeries since 2012. Steri-strips or sutures were logical options not utilized by her surgeon. She got the infection soon as the 1st surgery was completed.

My mother quickly went down hill at the nursing facility. It was discovered that a staples had been left inside her wound/incision in her spine and became septic. She was sepsis for 2 months! My mother was returned to the hospital to have another surgical procedure to have the staples removed and she was sent back to the nursing facility the very same day on a Access bus. Each day she appeared to get worse and our requests for intervention seemed to be falling on deaf ears. When my mother was finally readmitted to the hospital she was no longer able to speak. A died that same morning, learning later she passed away from septic shock infection.

Our family is devastated and in a state of confusion about our sudden loss. We have been totally caught off guard by the poor care my mother received and the unexpected chain of events that followed.

Georgia spent her life being a giver, taking care of children, praying for others in need, and singing in the choir at her church. Anyone who went to Zion in Seattle, WA knew my momma Georiga. All the kids would always call her, "Sis. Georgia from Zion Prep", the one who makes the GIANT COOKIES and the FREE HOT BREAKFASTS' for all the kids at school. I could almost smell them now.

She was a respected figure in the Central Area where she grew up with family. She was respected in her Senior Community Apartments, at Courtland place where she was loved by so many. My mom had a biggest heart for Family and an even bigger heart for God and anyone she could help in need.

My mom still had many years left to live on this earth. But those years we're stolen, now she's gone forever. My mom was forced to have a surgery that ended her life! Now she won't be able to see her grandson graduate or me get married. She will always & forever be in our hearts our Beloved Mama Georgia❤.

Asking friends, family, community, to join us in honoring the life Georgia spent loving others. We need your financial support right now to get through this horrifying loss. Please give any amount you are able to, to help us memorialize my mom with a beautiful headstone that she deserves.

Thank you in advance for all contributions big or small!
