Mama Rabbon's Brain Recovery
Donation protected
TLDR:
Jinky Rabbon or Mama Rabbon had a sudden and unexpected brain aneurysm on the night of April 3. She is now recovering after 3 brain surgeries in the ICU at UCSF Medical Hospital Center.
If you have the means, please consider donating to help cover the costs of the ambulance ride, helicopter flight, surgeries, and hospital stay. Mama Rabbon has a generous and loving heart. She has done so much for our family and welcomes everyone around her like family. Now is a time where she is in need and we can give back to her.
If you can't give financially, please continue to pray for Mama Rabbon. Pray that she becomes strong enough to remove the breathing tube. That’s one major hurdle. Also pray that the blood vessels in her brain do not spasm. Pray for her comfort and strength.
More details from Corey Rabbon’s perspective:
On the night of April 3, Jinky and I spent a few hours doing some work on the computer. Around 9pm she said was getting hungry, and that she was going downstairs. I told her I would join her after I finished a few things on the computer. About 5 minutes later, I could faintly here her cry out my name... it was really a whisper.
I arrived to find her sitting on the bench near our bed, and she said her head was hurting so bad. I asked what I could do and she asked for 3 Advils. As I was getting that, She said she needed a scarf to tie around her head. This is what I do when I get migraines. I ran about looking for a scarf, and I couldn’t find the scarves I use for my migraines. She said, any scarf, and I grabbed a really nice one she had and she had me tie it around her head tight. She was in a lot of pain, and was barely able to take the Advil's. I asked, should I call 911, and shortly thereafter she said, “I think I’m going to die”. And within seconds, she had a seizure, vomited, and went limp.
I immediately called 911, and the lady on the phone walked my through what to do: put her on her side, and make sure the vomit is out of her mouth so that she could breath. I did so, and she vomited several more times while on her side before the medics arrived. They took her to Sierra Vista Hospital. I’ll keep this part short. While there, it was determined she had an aneurysm burst, and that she needed to go to UCSF.
At UCSF, they did 3 procedures. The first was to relieve pressure in her head. The second was to add dye to her blood to see if they could come up through the leg to coil the aneurysm - the answer was no. The third was a surgery to clip the problem in the brain. This was done, and I spoke with one of the doctors on the team to learn that the surgery went as planned.
As of now Mama Rabbon is still recovering at UCSF Medical Center in an ICU. She is still in a lot of pain and the recovery period is said to be at least 2 weeks.
