Help Us Help Mama McClure!!

Donation protected

To say that 2020 has been rough, would be a gross understatement of reality. To add to that heaping dumpster fire is the news that our amazing, kind, wonderful, hilarious friend, Shannon McClure, was just diagnosed with cancer. While the prognosis is hopeful and action is underway, it’s still a painful diagnosis for our “Mama” McClure. Even more so for her family. If you know Shannon, you know that her love for The Kid (Brandon) and his fiancé Emily and grandson Dexter is immense. She would do anything in the world for them. But that’s Shannon... generous and giving. Always. So it’s time for us to circle the wagons and return all of that love to Shannon now when she needs it most.

For those of you that may not know, Shannon was diagnosed with Chrone’s Disease in the last year and a half, which has been painful, debilitating, and had laid her low even BEFORE the pandemic hit. When symptoms continued to worsen, she went in for more tests, and it was at that time, just a couple of weeks ago, that she was diagnosed with rectal cancer. When her closest friends and family found out, we rushed to figure out how to support her and also send a healthy amount of ridiculous memes to help her laugh her way through this process. (Please, feel free to continue to send those to Shannon, as she needs as much laughter and entertainment as possible. Trust me.) Mama McClure entered into the process of treating this Stage 3 cancer right away, with the advice and guidance of her doctors and her mom, who has been with her every step of the way. This past week, they performed surgery to give her a colostomy bag, in order to prevent any blockages and prepare her for the upcoming chemotherapy and radiation treatments. She’s home now after an overnight stay (on 12/16) in the hospital and is ready to start kicking ass cancer’s ass!

This is where we all come in! Shannon is going to need support in LOTS of ways over the coming year, which is roughly the time that her doctor has said this treatment may take. We know that times  have been incredibly hard financially for many people recently, but we also know that Shannon is surrounded by a fierce gang of family and friends and that every little bit can help!

Please find any necessary links below where, we will be posting treatment updates, requests from Shannon, Amazon Wish Lists, fundraising links, and more. The hope is that we can post as much there as possible so Shannon doesn’t have to worry about individual updates to all of us. It will be updated often and ALL money raised is going DIRECTLY to Shannon so that the last thing she has to think about is how she’s going to do any of this alone. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that together, we can survive almost anything.
