The Man with no Thighs

Meet Nathan, a 34 year old who was born with a rare condition called bilateral PFFD ( Proximal femoral focal deficiency) . He is ONE out of 25 in the whole world that has Grade D, being the ONLY one that walks. After an 11 and a half hour, 3.5 million dollar surgery at age 18, that removed 11 shards in his hip leaving one behind because it was too deep to remove without severe damage. He still relearned to walk again despite the odds!

Nathan was born in Minnesota where he was raised with his three sisters by his mother that now isn't a part of his life. He grew up on a hobby farm and there were always chores that needed to be done. Nathan never got a pass. He did just as much work as everyone else and sometimes more. Never giving in to his so called limitations. He learned to persevere, as well as humble himself in every situation. He never looked at himself as different until he grew up and moved into the city.

You see Nathan's condition is that he is missing the leg from hip to knee. So the tibia and fibula sit where the hip bone usually hooks together in the hip, held together by only muscle. It's much like walking on bone stilts. The pain from that, as well as spine pain from having to kick his legs is tremendous. Working in this condition is not something that is easy or doable with out being in excruciating pain.

Nathan and his love and best friend were living off of 600 a month from his disability but no longer do because the government ceased his monthly check. They are now living off of hell from family currently.  With medical bills destroying his credit, he's rather limited in what he's capable to do at the moment. It would be amazing if he had the ability to find and afford a doctor that knew of and specialized in his condition. So far, besides the Shriner's doctors who helped him at 18, (which refuse to release the names of every doctor he saw) is stumped. Leaving Nathan more of an expert in the situation than the doctors who struggle to treat him. These two moved to New Mexico to try and start a business called Indigo Imprints,were they were selling home made healing stone jewelery, as well as self-help and motivational videos and meditation tools. Because these two really know how to shine in a world full of darkness. Even when their circumstances seem so tough and defeating they bring love and light to every one they meet, including me!

They originally moved out here with a friend to get more into the jewelry and healing community to learn as much as they could. Their friend decided to take a different path in life leaving Nathan and Chelsee alone in a state where they had no friends or family. The stress of this started to take a toll on Nathan's health and from there it kept taking a spiral down. From then on he has needed 24 hours of focus. Chelsee, his love and best friend, being the one to help him.

They have not been able to settle down into a home that is affordable and suits them, so they have been jumping around place to place praying that they will find the perfect home. Due to the stress of jumping place to place they decided to go to Minnesota to be around lots of friends, family, and beautiful nature to help with both of their mental states of being. Their desires of the perfect home would be something that they could afford without struggling. In all honesty all it would take for a perfect place they could call home would be on a small nature filled plot of land to call their very own. With a tiny home with just enough room to give them a place to lay their heads down aside another each night and a roof to keep out the rain.
Nathan can't walk very long distances without it causing a day or more worth of excruciating back pain. So having reliable transportation is vital for doctor's visits and getting where they need to go. However a quality reliable vehicle costs thousands, thousands they don't currently have.
They want to go on walks together while the sun sets and make a garden to eat fresh produce. They want to roam the land and have adventures. They want to make new memories that cling to their heart fondly. They want to live life just a little more freely. But to do this is such a struggle with out some form of transportation . They do make things that he could use to do all this, However once again the cost on such a thing is far beyond their reach.

These two have a place in my heart. They are wonderful people needing a step up. This beautiful couple are so selfless, thinking of others before them self's and that is why I have decided to make a go fund me page for them.

Nathan and Chelsee inspire me. Their will to keep pushing on and to see the good in every situation is so inspiring! There are people in this world that do whatever they can to make it just a little bit better, no matter what life throws their way. Nathan and Chelsee are those type of people. So kind and inviting. So full of love and happiness. They would give their shirt off of their backs for someone if the situation came up. And that's why I'm doing this. They need help, they need a boost.
