Hurricane Sandy: Manasquan, NJ Recovery Fund

For those of you who don't know Meredith Herrmann, she is one of my best friends, bridesmaids, and local to Manasquan, NJ, a shore town devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

I have visited Manasquan twice, and was warmly greeted by the town both times. I met Meredith's immediate and extended families, and they welcomed me with open arms. The town is lined with beautiful beaches and offers delicious pizza and my favorite cookie dough ice cream. Everywhere we went, Meredith would run into former sports coaches or friend's parents; everyone knows everyone.

Meredith's town was not located in an evacuation zone, but suffered flooding of up to 8 feet; most of the town holds single story houses. Houses flooded and boats floated into the streets.

If you are able to donate, I am collecting money to assist Meredith's family and friends with the expenses of their displacement and recovery from the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy. I am trying to help a small town that was so wonderful to me, and home to one of my best friends. Any donation helps.
