Manatee Center hurricane recovery

Donation protected
Puerto Rico was just devastated by the enormous and powerful hurricane Maria. This also damaged the Puerto Rico Manatee Conservation Center. While its current four patients, Guacara, Aramana, Mabo and Tureygua, are alive and well, the Center is without electricity and its veterinary clinic and laboratory were destroyed. One of its quarentine pools was also damaged.

I am Antonio Mignucci, from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and director of the Puerto Rico Manatee Conservation Center and President of the 501c3 non-profit Red Caribeña de Varamientos. All funds will be deposited directly to the non-profit corporate bank account and used solely to reconstruct the Center as detailed below.

This fund raising seeks funds to (1) buy and install a power generator for the rehab tanks filters, (2) by a walk-in refrigerating half trailer for storing manatee food, (3) rebuild and make functional the manatee veterinary clinic and labs, and (4) repair and re-install the quarentine pool.

Puerto Rico is in need of lots of help until we get off the ground. Puerto Rican manatees also need this help, to survive as an endangered species, but also with a functional rehab center to care for those that need rescue and veterinary care.
