Manchester Evening News Christmas Charity Appeal 2024
For most, Christmas is a time of joy, when families come together to celebrate. But for some, it can be the hardest part of the year.
Forced into a life of poverty, instead of looking forward to presents under the tree or a roast dinner, they are left to choose between heating and eating. And these people need our help.
For the third year in a row, the Manchester Evening News is teaming up with Humans MCR to ensure that no one in Greater Manchester goes hungry this Christmas.
The charity does vital work, delivering food parcels to around 400 families every week across Manchester, Salford, Trafford, Stockport, Rochdale and Bury.
Their approach reimagines the traditional ‘food bank’ method, aiming to break the cycle of intergenerational food poverty through providing a cycle of services to help lift people out of hunger.
Humans MCR stands out for its commitment to treating every person with the dignity and respect they deserve. They serve as a vital support system for families and individuals throughout the region. Their discreet delivery in unmarked vans helps maintain privacy, while also providing people in need with choice over what they eat.
And each year, its Nobody Hungry At Christmas campaign works tirelessly to provide hampers containing a full dinner, as well as presents and treats for adults and children.
This year we are hoping to help this incredible charity provide Christmas dinner for 1,000 people.
Please join us in supporting this incredible work - even a small donation will make a huge difference.
